Chamber Diary – Member Feedback and Future Planning
Dear Fellow Members,
As many of you will recall from the AGM in May, or from reading the minutes, there was a proposal discussed regarding the future of the annual Chamber diary, which has traditionally been produced and distributed at the end of each year.
These diaries have been a valued resource for many years, providing helpful information about the Chamber, its members, and various aspects of our town. We understand they are appreciated by many and are used throughout the year. However, in today’s increasingly digital world, and with a growing awareness of environmental impact and waste, the continued production of printed diaries may not align with our values. Additionally, some of the content can become outdated after printing, and much of the same information is now available on our website.
To guide our next steps thoughtfully and inclusively, the Board of Directors proposes the following:
For the 2026 diary, production will move to a request only basis. Members who wish to receive a diary will need to submit a request here by 30 September 2025.
For 2027 onwards, we invite all members to vote here on one of the following options. The majority vote will determine how we proceed:
o Option 1 – Continue with the printed diary in its current format, subject to review again in 2027.
o Option 2 – Transition to a digital information brochure that includes key diary details, advertisements, and member information.
We believe this is a fair and balanced way to assess the future of the Chamber Diary and Directory and we encourage all members to take a few moments to participate in the voting process.
If you have any questions or would like further clarification, please contact the Chamber office.
Yours sincerely,
Russell Colbran
President
