Local charity moves to flagship premises in Old Town

Sussex charity SASBAH has moved into new premises in Eastbourne –and is inviting Chamber members to an Open Evening on Thursday October 23between 5.30pm and 7pm

SASBAH is the Sussex Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.

Previously based at Gun Hill in Chiddingly, SASBAH is now situated at 39 Church Street, Old Town. The charity has more than 1000 members across Sussex and supports people with spina bifida, hydrocephalus and other disabilities.

From their new hub, SASBAH runs their Saspire program, giving people with disabilities valuable work experience opportunities, as well as fortnightly youth club and bespoke gift shop selling hand-crafted gifts and jewellery. SASBAH’s new premises also doubles as an elegant function and event space, enabling them to hold vital fundraising and social events in Eastbourne.

Speaking of the move, SASBAH CEO Rom Sanglaji said: “We arethrilled to have moved into Eastbourne, and also thrilled to be working closelywith Jill Parker at The JPK Project, a charity so well known locally andrightly held in very high regard.

“JPK has seven supported living flats at the back of the site forpeople with learning disabilities, and SASBAH has moved into the rest of thebuilding, and a beautiful building it is too. It is an example of truepartnership and it’s working extremely well.

“We look forward to welcoming Chamber members here on October 23for drinks and nibble, and we are keen to be actively involved in the localcommunity.”
