During our very brief AGM we will approve the accounts, and also elect the President, Treasurer, new Directors and Auditors for the coming year. (see the papers below). Followed by business networking and the opportunity to tour the Pevensey Levels and Montague Farm.
The farm is located on the western edge of the Pevensey Levels with views across its own grasslands to the sea. An 18th century complex of barns, courtyards and homes are the heart of farm activities, which are principally sheep and cattle.
The family have farmed here since 1942 and went fully organic in 1998; a flock of purebred Romney ewes and herd of pedigree Sussex cows now graze in excess of 700 acres, benefitting from a progressive farm infrastructure.
In addition to its livestock Montague also hosts a stunning bespoke wedding venue, events and corporate buildings as well as hosting the East Sussex Pony Club.
Three quarters of the grazed area fall onto the flat wetlands of the Pevensey Levels with wildlife habitats teaming with the quiet fun of plants and insects and querulous commotion of returning bird populations, work supported by Natural England.
Montague Farm is at the cutting edge of nature conservation which is its core business, delivering an environment which influences all aspects of farm life.
The AGM papers are attached here and will be emailed out to members.
