Kickstart Eastbourne Update

Have you already applied?
The Eastbourne Kickstart Scheme is up and running although we understand there may be a slight delay in getting the jobs accepted onto the government portal as there has been such a high demand. As soon as we know more we will update those that are already on the scheme. We remain hopeful that new employees will be in place very soon!

We still have some spaces to fill
Kickstart Eastbourne is a Gateway and as such we must submit jobs in groups of no less than 30. Therefore we are seeking a few more employers so that we can submit a further cohort. The scheme promises to be excellent for employers and employees alike.

The Kickstart Scheme is a £2 billion fund to create hundreds of thousands of high quality 6-month work placements for young people.

It was launched on the 8th July after the Chancellor announced the Kickstart Scheme as part of the Plan for Jobs. Funding available for each job will cover the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.

Young people must also be given wraparound support on their Kickstart placement to allow them to develop new skills and to help them move into sustained employment on completion of their placement. There is additional funding available to support this.

Kickstart Eastbourne is a partnership between Eastbourne unLtd Chamber of Commerce and Crossland and Dudson Training, supporting local SMEs and entrepreneurs to access funding from the government's Kickstart Scheme and create jobs for unemployed young people.
