Grant Amount:
The initial grant covers the period 26th December 2020 (when we entered tier 4) until the 15th of February 2021 (when the national lockdown restrictions are due to be reviewed). This is a total of 52 days.

The amount you will receive is based on the rateable value of the property on the first full day of local restrictions:

  • If your business has a rateable value of £15,000 or less you will be eligible for a cash grant of £2,477.43
  • If your business has a rateable value of £15,001 to £50,999 you will be eligible for a cash grant of £3,714.29
  • If your business has a rateable value of £51,000 or more, you will be eligible for a cash grant of £5,571.43

If either the national lockdown or tier 4 restrictions apply after the 15th of February 2021 the scheme will be extended for each 14 day period.

Eligibility:

  • It is open to all businesses that were forced to close when Eastbourne entered tier 4 on the 26th of December. This includes: non-essential retail, personal beauty, gyms, hotels, restaurants and pubs.
  • It includes pubs and restaurants that operate primarily as an in-person venue but which have been forced to close those services and provide a takeaway-only service instead
  • It does not include businesses that continue to operate during the period of restrictions because they do not depend on providing direct in-person services (for example accountants) even if you have chosen to close.
