Eastbourne Town Improvements Phase 2 – Give your view

East Sussex Highways and the County Council have developed strong plans for the next stage of Eastbourne’s regeneration.  After consultation with the Chamber of Commerce they propose to improve the original pedestrianised area from Bankers Corner to Marks & Spencer.  This will include creating a small public square between Blacks, Nationwide, M&S and Debenhams; the first public square in Eastbourne town’s history.

Bolton Road and Langney Road will become two way and will no longer cut across the pedestrianised area.  When the weather is good, the square will become a great community space to sit out with friends, play games like scrabble and chess, drink coffee and eat al fresco.

Funding has already been agreed so make sure you review the plans for the next phase of our regeneration inside the Beacon Centre outside Lush between 10am and 4pm:

  • Wednesday 20th November
  • Saturday 23rd November and
  • Thursday 28th November

Give your opinion on Phase 2 and also have a look at Highways long term plans for the town centre.
