WOLO was the recipient of money raised at this year’s lunch, and the charity was presented with a cheque for £2633.64 at a recent Chamber breakfast event. Speaking at the presentation, WOLO founder Justin spoke emotionally of his personal journey that led him to creating the organisation.
Introducing WOLO…
When cancer turned their world upside down, Fler and Justin Wright were shocked by the lack of support available for families like theirs. Determined to change that, they founded WOLO Foundation—short for We Only Live Once.
WOLO helps families across Sussex with practical, hands-on support during cancer journeys. From easing financial pressures to providing day-to-day assistance, the charity ensures no family has to face it alone.
The name reflects the Wrights’ belief that life is precious and should be lived fully, surrounded by the people and passions that matter most. Their bright yellow branding, designed by Justin, symbolizes hope and positivity—with the “L” cleverly shaped as a “1” to highlight their ethos: we only live once.
Families can reach out directly or be nominated, while supporters can spread the word, share #WOLO moments, or wear the charity’s uplifting merchandise to help make a difference.
WOLO holds frequent charity fundraisers and inspiring, life affirming challenges including fire walking and mountaineering. Forthcoming events include The WoloBall – Festive Fiesta at Buxted Park Hotel. The ball offers a magical Christmas evening with exclusive hotel access, sparkling décor, drinks, canapés, a 3-course dinner, live entertainment, dancing, and festive fun—all in support of families in Sussex affected by cancer.
