London Philharmonic Announces Big Give Initiative

Ahead of their final concert in Eastbourne this season, the LPO has announced a charity initiative to help make music more accessible to everyone.

Between the 19th -26th March, for every £1 donated, theLondon Philharmonic will receive £2, thanks to fund-matching from Arts For Impact.

This week, the LPO announced that they are working collaboratively with local organisations on the South Coast of England to share the wonder of music with more people.

By a-twist of-fate the LPO’s announcement was made in a week where Opposition Leader Kier Starmer revealed a personal mission to make the arts accessible to all under-11’s.

The LPO is performs mini concerts in non-traditional venues, which makes their music more accessible to people who might not have the opportunity to experience it otherwise.

The London Philharmonics new initiatives will deliver exciting and authentic musical experiences at grassroots level, reaching those who might not otherwise experience orchestral music.

You can support the LPO to:

★ Inspire young minds and future music lovers

The LPO will be performing the first-ever school concert at the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne and delivering workshops for talented young instrumentalists.

★ Support wellbeing

The LPO is partnering with organisations that support amateur adult musicians who have faced challenges such as addiction and homelessness to deliver musical workshops with LPO players.

★ Enhance accessibility

The LPO is performing mini concerts in non-traditional venues such as shopping and community centres to remove barriers and make our music more accessible to a wider community of people who might not have the opportunity to experience it otherwise.

“Huge thanks for enabling our students to have such a wonderful opportunity with the LPO. The young musicians were really buzzing with excitement throughout the whole afternoon and in their lessons this week.”
