Eastbourne Paws for Pudsey

If you went down to the Arndale Centre on Thursday, you would have had a big surprise!

Over 600 teddy bears and their owners joined hands and paws in Eastbourne’s Arndale Centre to raise money for BBC Children in Need. The event was organised by the Healthy High Streets team.

Jodie Coomber, manager of Eastbourne Greggs, who supplied over 400 free gingerbread men to everyone who took part said “It was a fantastic event and it was so wonderful seeing so many teddies and their owners taking part. Thank you also to the fantastic team of helpers, supporters and town’s mascots who came down and joined in the fun!”

The event was also filmed by the BBC, who will be broadcasting the video during the television appeal night for Children in Need.

Christina Ewbank, Chief Executive of Eastbourne unLtd Chamber of Commerce, a partner of the Healthy High Streets Team added “This was a great opportunity to raise money for Children in Need, celebrate our high street and more importantly make Pudsey proud and put Eastbourne on the map as the cuddly capital of the country.”
