Finding and Retaining Talent in a Post-Brexit World
Join us for a joint skills networking breakfast with Sussex Chamber of Commerce and East Sussex County Council.
This event will be based around recruiting Apprentices and the importance of engaging with schools.
We are pleased to announce our guest speakers will be:

Mel Parr – Youth Employability Service (YES)
Josie Ward – East Sussex Highways (ESH) – a Joint Venture between ESCC, Jacobs and Costain
Ana Christie – Sussex Chamber of Commerce
They will look at and discuss:
- Why should employers engage with schools?
- How to manage an apprentice if you’re a small business
- What an apprenticeship looks like, how to find one and the levels and standards
- Key challenges in recruiting and retaining a young apprentice
- The benefits and lessons from employing Apprentices in a private sector business, delivering public services
- Investment in Young People
Investment in Young People is a National Award that recognises the important work that businesses carry out in assisting young people aged 5 to 25 gain employability skills and assist them with the transition from education into the world of work. Find out how you can be recognised for the important work that you do to help young people gain skills and prepare them for future employment.
The breakfast is being held at Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club from 8.30am and costs £12 for chamber members
