Brexit or Stay – how will it affect the pound in your pocket?

At recent Chamber meetings we have taken straw polls of the attending members to find out what they would vote if the EU Referendum were to take place tomorrow.  Whilst the large majority have indicated their wish to stay inside the EU a significant number of members simply "don't know"!

In order to help these members to make a decision we have attached below a couple of reports making the argument to go and to stay.  Please be aware that these are personal opinions and do not indicate support from the Chamber of Commerce either way.

Whilst the Chamber will remain neutral on this issue we actively encourage discussion and debate and would welcome your thoughts and ideas here so please respond to this blog and let us know what you think.

Some really good points on both sides. In my mind, it’s better to remain in, influencing what happens to our biggest trading partners, than to be out with no say.

"In 2015, Eastbourne UnLtd made Christmas for our town with over 50,000 people visiting the centre as a direct result of the activities managed and co-ordinated by the Chamber. One of the highlights was the Coca Cola truck which proved what a night time economy can look like."
